Pastor Ferguson was born and raised in Camden County, NJ in a non-Christian home. After graduating from Triton High School, he went on to study at Glassboro State College (now Rowan University) from where he graduated summa cum laude in 1991, earning a B.A. in Law and Justice. Subsequent to college, Tim graduated from Rutgers Law School – Camden in 1994. Thereafter, he started his own law office in Bellmawr, NJ in 1994, and successfully operated his law practice until 2015. He married his wife, Leslie, in May of 1992. Tim and Leslie have six wonderful children (Anastasia – 24; Montgomery – 20; Annaliese – 18; Addison – 17; Isabelle – 16 and Trinity – 11).
Pastor Ferguson was first introduced to the gospel at the Boardwalk Chapel at age 19. He wrestled with his faith over the next several years and it was just prior to entering Law School that, by God’s grace and mercy, he turned to trust in Jesus Christ for his salvation. He then became a member of Immanuel OPC in Bellmawr, NJ where he was ordained as a deacon in 2001 and served in the diaconate until 2008. In 2008, God led him to help a Baptist church in Pennsville, NJ transition into the Reformed faith and the OPC. In 2008, Tim was odained as a Ruling Elder at Grace OPC in Pennsville, NJ. Throughout his career, he has served as a family and marital counselor, provided financial and spiritual counsel and has discipled many men in the faith of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
It was during his time as a Ruling Edler that Tim began sensing a call to the pastoral ministry and so, he began studies at Reformed Theological Seminary in 2009 and at Westminster Theological Seminary (WTS) – Philadelphia in 2010. In the summer of 2014, he served as a pastoral intern under Rev. Dr. Michael Matossian at Emmanuel OPC in Wilmington, DE. Tim graduated from WTS with his Masters of Divinity in pastoral ministry in May of 2015. One month later, on June 19, 2015, Pastor Ferguson received a unanimous, first ballot call to be the next pastor of Grace Presbyeterian Church in Westfield, which he accepted.
Since coming to serve at Grace Presbyterian Church, Tim has demonstrated a desire to, and proficiency with, preaching and teaching the whole counsel of God with ministerial clarity, to shepherd the congregation, and to lead the church in gospel-centered outreach.
Pastor Ferguson would love to assist you in any way he might, so please feel free to reach out to him.
